What Really IS …
In Psychology once we were talking about Major Philosophical Issues. In that we were looking at the mind-brain problem!
So the question really is how is experience related to the organ system called the brain? There are two choices, well generally and my question really is to everyone who is reading right now is what they believe about the following two options! What really is… the right one?
Dualism is the belief that the mind is separate from the brain but somehow controls the brain and through it also the rest of the body.
Monism is the view that conscious experience is generated by and therefore is inseparable from the brain. (In other words mind is attached to the brain..)
Now I know there are no right answers, since no one has figured it out yet and actually it is really hard to… Think about it and yes you have to use your brain now!
I just put my brain aside for some hibernation
Some other time maybe
lol
Haha Sure
i think mind is a software that runs on the hardware called brain, where the neurons (a type of brain cells) are components of the hardware circuitry, so it can be concluded that brain (the hardware) provides the basic circuitry to make the mind (the software) work but sending ‘electric signals’
Interesting post!
*uses brain* .. *thinks really hard*
I gotta say I agree more with Monism than Dualism as I think the mind is attached to the brain, but woah, this is really hard, it could be either!
@Aisha Great Explanations! Good Job!
@Sana Thank you! Lol, interesting choice!
hehe , thanx
Haha, awesome!
