Texting Life-Threatening Choice?
I was crossing the street once, pedestrian crossing signal was showing a walk sign and I was in the middle of the street and the driver was turning left. She almost killed me! It didn’t happen once, but twice and both times I got away with it. So why are these drivers driving blindly.. well hopefully you read the title of this blog post and the answer is texting.
In 2007, 5 girls in US were involved in an accident with a tractor, and guess what – investigators found out the driver was texting. This is just one of the examples about horrific accidents occurring due to texting!
It may not be long before you see this message on your cell phone, “Getting in accident. Txt u ltr?” according to report from London based RAC foundation, driving while texting is more dangerous than alcohol or marijuana. In a test of drivers between the ages of 17 and 24, those who consumed alcohol the legal limit – 0.08 for most US states – saw a 12 percent reduction in reaction time, compared with 21 percent for marijuana. Texting, however, lead to a 35 percent reduction for those who composed or read text while driving. (PC Magazine)
For love of God, I can’t understand if the governments know all about the statistics of texting and getting into accidents. Why many federal governments haven’t put same fines, same charges, or same penalties they have on drunk driving? Absolutely outrageous!
Oh man! I hate when drivers do that =O
Here in the UK they made it illegal to use a mobile phone while driving and if you do you have to pay a fine and I think you also get points on your license, maybe they ought to do that in Canada?

i agree! it is outrageous indeed. even worse, drivers do not admit they were wrong in answering a phone call/text message while driving, if fined for doing that.
